Geuzen Resistance 1940-1945 Foundation

The ’De Geuzen’ resistance group lit the flame of liberty and passed it on. The Geuzen Resistance 1940-1945 Foundation wishes to keep the ideals and memory of the Geuzen alive and make sure that the flame remains lit, also for the younger generation.

Preserve en promote democracy
The foundation’s objective is to preserve and promote the Dutch democracy and increase vigilance for all types of dictatorship, discrimination and racism.

Geuzen Medal 
Since 1987 the foundation has awarded a Geuzen Medal every year as a tribute to individuals or institutions that have, in some special way, devoted themselves to fighting for democracy or against dictatorship, discrimination and racism.
